Hey, Yo, What’s POPPING?
After one entire summer of “soul-searching”, “self-observation” and realizing things, I’ve made it back one peice to continue this journey of finding creative ways and lucrative deals to attain airline and hotel status.
It’s been a short while since the announcement came out that from 1st December this year(2018), EuroBonus points earned on SAS go class will be cut drastically; and that most certainly includes my precious SAS go youth ticketing.
You may access the details of the change on SAS’s website here.
It’s hard to say which factors has led to such ‘sudden'(?) changes, or should I say that everyone has see it coming for a long time?
I just didn’t thought that it would came so quick, so, as a result of that:
Here’s one of my past golden status-attaining strategy you can now wave goodbye to:
There are even rumors on certain frequent flyers community (Flyertalk) suggesting that my aforementioned blogpost has lead to SAS executives’ decision of closing such “loopholes”.
I doubt I will ever be ever that influencial to start with. What I can see from such action is that SAS is trying to follow the steps of other Star Alliance airlines like Lufthansa and United. Just as how the baggage policy went with the SAS go light tickets.
As for SAS youth ticket, what used to give you generous amount of EuroBonus points earnings, now is still being offered at equally competitive prices, just with insluting amount of points. Ranging from 100/200/250/300.
This would kill all the possibilities of accumalting points and flying for cheap at the same time for all the Scandinavian youth. Not to mention how cruel it is for some customers who will end up paying up to 500 Pounds return only to receive 600 in EuroBonus points earning.
I will definitly update more reflections upon this matter and most usefully how to came up with new strategies ensure status with SAS next year.
As always, stay tuned.
