South African Airways (SAA) recently announced that it will officially open a direct flight from Guangzhou, China to Johannesburg on September 18, 2019. It will provide more convenient services for outbound travel and business travellers to South Africa, with flight time reduced to 13 hours and 40 minutes. Further increase the exchanges between China and South Africa. By then, China, especially tourists in southern China, can choose to start from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and start a wonderful trip to South Africa. African passengers have direct access to Guangzhou, a Chinese city known for its manufacturing exports.

The launch of the new direct flight route is not only another important strategic deployment of South African Airways to expand its own route network, but also one of the important measures to attract Chinese tourists to South Africa. As one of the world-famous tourist countries of the African continent, South Africa has a rich and diverse tourism resources, as well as a prestigious national park and quality scenic spots. In recent years, the number of Chinese tourists in South Africa has been rising. In the year of 2018, 97,136 Chinese tourists were welcomed. In the second half of 2018, Chinese tourists visiting South Africa increased by 8% year-on-year. In January 2019, they increased by 22%. %. In addition, the Chinese source market has also contributed positively to South Africa’s economic development, and China has become one of South Africa’s major sources of tourism. With the increase in the number of nights between Chinese tourists and the continuous increase in daily consumption, the consumption of Chinese tourists in South Africa increased by 69% in 2018.

South Africa has actively added a Chinese Visa Center to provide more convenience for Chinese tourists. Currently, it has opened visa centers in 11 cities in China, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi’an, Shenyang, Wuhan, Jinan, Hangzhou, Kunming and Chongqing. You can choose the Visa Application Center to apply.

Mr. Mansoor Mohamed, Chief Representative of the South African Tourism Board for Asia and the Pacific, said: “Professional policies and direct flights are the two main points of work for attracting more Chinese tourists to South Africa. To this end, the South African Tourism Board will continue to deepen its partnership with South African Airways. I firmly believe that the South African direct flight route will make Guangzhou an international metropolis an important aviation hub connecting southern China and even Asia and South Africa. Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong Province and also follows Beijing. The third largest city in China after Shanghai. The market in Guangzhou and southern China is very important for us. The tourists from Guangdong Province, a big province in the outbound province, also have great enthusiasm for South Africa. Thanks to more visa simplification policies and aviation convenience, South Africa is expected to welcome more Chinese tourists in the future!”

The Guangzhou route will meet the needs of a large number of passengers between Johannesburg and China, including business and corporate travellers, as well as attracting interest from freight traders. Considering that many high-value goods come from Guangzhou, the future cargo business can make full use of the capacity of this route.

South African Airways will be the only airline that operates direct flights between Johannesburg and Guangzhou. The direct flight time is approximately 13 hours and 40 minutes, making it the shortest way to travel between the two stations. Future daily flights to and from the Greater China region will consist of three flights a week between Guangzhou and four flights a week to and from Hong Kong. The two routes will be Airbus A340-300.

According to the flight schedule, flights departing from Guangzhou arrive in Johannesburg in the morning and are seamlessly connected to the SAA regional flight network, so that passengers can stay in Johannesburg for no more than three hours. After arriving in Guangzhou in the afternoon, the flight can transfer to more than 20 destinations in China, including one to three hours to Shanghai, Beijing, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Nanning, Kunming, Haikou, Qingdao, Nanchang, Wuhan and Chengdu.

Albert K. Field Albert is my name, and travel the world is my game. I began my passion for travel at a very young age, I started this website as a strong means to further explore the world of frequent flyers programs (FFP). The relationship between customers and service providers in the aviation and hospitality industry always seems to be in opposition, however, since the introduction of United Airlines’ Frequent Flyers Programm since 1972*. This has significantly eased the middle spectrum between 2 parties. While the aim of airlines is still to generate more revenue; but for us,as consumers, are also given the opportunity to participate in the bargaining and exploiting from service providers. Living in a world of globalization where big data becomes vital for simulating successful economical activities, most of us will have to travel to other locations whether willingly or unwillingly, while you hearing all this fascinating stories about others, In fact, you too, can blend into the trend. It may not sound like how media illustrates, but indeed there are possibilities for us to have more spontaneous travel without getting held back by financial situation. My website consists of reviews of airline premium cabin products, airport lounges and stay reports of 5-star hotels and their executive lounges across the globe. In addition to all of that, I care the most about their frequent flyers program and loyalty program, which also includes banking partners. Plus, I spontaneously put up reviews and news update regarding premium water brands and restaurants. The purpose of this website is to share all of this information with my audience as well as inviting you to be part of my journey.
